MANAGER, CLINICS & LABORATORIES Faculty of Community Services & Health Sciences George Brown College Toronto, ON Full Time/ Probationary Position Salary: $74,011 - $92,514 Band: 11 (Under Review) Reporting to the Director, Health Sciences, the Manager, Clinics and Laboratories works collaboratively with management, faculty, staff and students to ensure effective client services, develop and implement quality assurance policies and practices, and manage the physical facilities associated with the clinic, laboratories and dispensary. The incumbent is also responsible for management of support staff and technologists, effective financial management of the clinic and related budgets; support of interprofessional educational opportunities within the clinic; and the development of technology to enhance and facilitate the operations of the clinic and laboratories. DUTIES: ·Manages the delivery of services to clients by ensuring appropriate administrative, financial and clinical policies and procedures are in place ·Develops and implements strategies to increase client base (e.g. through marketing and retention) ·Develops, implements and monitors quality control practices pertaining to a) infection control, b) client health records, and c) client services policies and procedures (e.g. complaints, processes) ·Collaborates with faculty to ensure continuity between clinical practice and curriculum ·Manages the physical facilities associated with the dental clinics, laboratories and dispensary including establishing maintenance and housekeeping schedules, monitoring the condition of equipment and planning for equipment and infrastructure upgrades and replacement. ·Collaborates and coordinates with the Facilities Management Department as appropriate. ·Recruits and manages technologists and support staff associated with the clinics, laboratories and dispensary. ·Develops and implements strategies for continuous learning and staff development. ·Works collaboratively with Director, Health Sciences, Chairs, Faculty, Staff and others to implement electronic health record and a dispensary module for efficient management of supplies and equipment. ·Assesses the need for other technological enhancements and improvements for client services and laboratories/dispensary. ·Collaborates with the Manager, Operations to ensure effective financial management of the Clinic and Laboratories. ·Works collaboratively with the Director and others in the development of business plans and proposals. ·Collaborates with management team and faculty to support interprofessional activities within the clinics and laboratories. ·Performs administrative and other related duties as may be assigned by the Director in support of the Clinic and Laboratories. QUALIFICATIONS: ·Master's degree in Business Administration, Education or other relevant degree from a recognized post secondary institution and a professional designation in the Dental field (e.g. hygiene). ·Five years experience in budget and financial management, human resources management in a unionized environment, and experience in managing a dental facility. ·Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills. ·Proficient with computer software and particularly those related to client services. ·Experienced with facilities and maintenance management. ·Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders ·Strong customer service orientation. ·Excellent communication, team building and interpersonal skills. ·Ability to demonstrate leadership in an academic environment with a diverse student and staff population. The College requires proof of degrees, credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post secondary institutions and/or their international equivalents. Credentials may require validation at the time of interviews.
