Hours of Work: Primarily Monday to Friday with occasional evening work as required
Key Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse, and member of the College of Nurses of Ontario
- CNA certification in psychiatric/ mental health nursing preferred
- Minimum five years current Mental Health experience in an out-patient mental health setting
- Knowledge or experience related to concurrent disorders preferred
- Experience with case co-ordination, counselling and group facilitation
- Expertise in evidence based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Dialectic Behavioural Therapy.
- Sound working knowledge of legislation related to mental health care and treatment
- Knowledge of relevant medications and their side effects
- Knowledge of community resources
- Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Positive work and attendance record
Position Summary:
- Provide clinical assessment and evidence based treatment for adults with major mental illness
- In partnership with clients and families/significant others and treatment team, develop, implement and evaluate overall treatment goals
- Educate and support families/significant others
- Consult with community agencies to maintain coordination in the client"s treatment process
