Position Summary:
Reporting to the Medical Education Program Lead, the Medical Education Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the implementation of undergraduate and post graduate medical education within The Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Works collaboratively with the medical education staff and multidisciplinary education groups to prepare both hospital sites for medical learners
- Implements the change management strategy for the arrival of medical learners in the hospitals with the Medical Education Program Lead and the Interprofessional Education Lead, including communication plan, stakeholder engagement, communications, learning, adoption and go-live planning
- Develops and implements new policies and procedures where required
- Prepares briefing notes on development, implementation and ongoing status of Academic Affiliation as well as recommendations for the various medical education-related committees and senior team
- Develops and prepares documentation for future phases in the Medical Education capital planning process
- Supports the data and information requirements of various Medical Education-related Committees
- Develops and monitors physician education lead agreements
- Develops and monitors academic site coordinator contracts, and monitors and reports on payments
- Plans, implements and evaluates the academic plan with each new cohort of medical learners
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in a related discipline
- Master"s Degree (Health Administration/Business Administration) preferred
- 2-3 years experience working in the healthcare industry/hospital environment
- Strong relationship building and management skills, including the ability to interact directly with clinicians
- 2-3 years Project Management skills/experience
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Business proposal writing and presentation skills are essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload
- Ability to interact with a wide-range of clinical, educational, and management professionals
- Flexibility, creativity, patience and persistence
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and the ability to construct reports and presentations with well-structured thoughts and presentation style are required
- Experience with MS Project would be an asset
